Leah’s breathing problems began when she was three years old and diagnosed with asthma. They took a drastic turn for the worse when she began smoking later in life. Leah quit smoking after ten years but was diagnosed with emphysema a few years later.
Leah’s emphysema made it difficult for her to get around and do anything, but her treatment from the Lung Health Institute has helped her get her life back. Learn more about Leah’s story below.
Daily struggles with emphysema before treatment
Leah’s emphysema caused shortness of breath that made it difficult for her to walk around, especially up inclines. She had to take a lot of medication to try to manage her symptoms, but nothing was working as well as she would have liked. She would have to use her rescue inhaler multiple times a day to fight shortness of breath.
Life after lung restoration treatment™ at the Lung Health Institute
After lung restoration treatment™, Leah was able to stop using her rescue inhaler completely. This has helped her save a lot of money. She can breathe well enough again that she can walk up inclines and she can cook.
Her family has noticed the difference too. Her husband notes that she can cook more often without flare-ups of symptoms, and her dogs are quite happy that she can play with them without getting winded.
“I am so happy I did it. If I had a chance to do it again, I would! I am a passionate person and I really believe in this treatment and the results.”
Leah is happy with her experience at the Lung Health Institute and felt that the staff is professional and treated her well.
