Nashville: An Affordable Experience Lung Institute

The list of attractions is endless:  Country Music Hall of Fame, Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, Johnny Cash Museum, Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art, and more. It feels as though a trip to Nashville could last a lifetime, but not everyone can afford so many high-quality, but high-priced experiences. So what can you do? Sit in your hotel room? No! There are plenty of diverse, affordable experiences in Nashville.

Nashville—a city filled with cultural vibrancy and Southern hospitality—does not limit its visitors on a budget. Rather, Nashville creates a wide variety of free events and cost-effective venues options. From excellent city views found in the great outdoors to uniquely diverse art galleries, Nashville offers something for everyone. Not to mention, the ample availability of live music every single day of the year!

The Great Outdoors

For those ready to soak in the beauty of rivers, lakes, and horticultural wonder, Nashville shares its environmental history through a dedication to the area’s Metro Parks. Offering a reprieve from the busyness of the city, many parks host various free events throughout the year, in addition to the opportunity to fish, picnic, take pictures and most importantly relax. Specialty parks such as the Music City Walk of Fame Park located on Nashville’s Music Mile, which honors great musical legends with a connection to the great city, and the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park—a historical tribute featuring an abstract depiction of Tennessee—continue to open their doors for no cost.

Perhaps the most notable attraction in Tennessee—The Parthenon—resides in Centennial Park. While the museum and world-famous Athena Parthenos sculpture require a small admission fee to view, it is note-worthy to bask in the awe of the only full-sized replication from Athens, Greece free of charge. After a day out in the sun, there are plenty of indoor options for a well-rounded day on the town.

An Artistic Element

While several of the headlining art galleries in Nashville are accompanied with a hefty admission fee, many continue to inspire visitors on any budget by opting for a donation-based system. The Arts Company specializes in new and exciting pieces with a contemporary essence created by artists, both amateur and legendary. Specialized studios, known as the Fisk Galleries, feature specific cultural regions such as African art and European folk art at The Aaron Douglas Gallery. The Stieglitz Collection at The Carl Van Vechten Gallery houses a variety of works by Picasso, Cezanne, and many others. Haynes Galleries focuses on American realism with an extensive list of distinguished pieces from the last three centuries. All three of these unique galleries are open to the public free of charge. For a well-rounded gallery experience, many other studios share their work with the public for no charge, so keep your eyes open for the latest and greatest artistic experience available for guests.

An Adult Experience in Nashville

Nashville, known for offering a variety of programs directed towards children, also promotes intriguing attractions for older guests. Arrington Vineyards provides an immersive “wine country experience” that can fit almost any budget. Entering the vineyards is free of charge, so be sure to pack a picnic and prepare to enjoy the splendor of the rolling hills of Tennessee. They even offer free wine tastings in their exquisite tasting room for individuals with a valid proof of age.

The experience does not need to end there. For individuals less inclined to wine, the Jack Daniel Distillery tour, located a short drive away in Lynchburg, highlights the interesting story of the history of whiskey and a thorough explanation of how it is made. The tour has no cost, and the historical town of Lynchburg houses a selection of 1800’s themed venues.

Nashville is exclusive to everybody. With no limits on attraction experiences based on budget or age, it is a destination for everyone. Now is the time to visit Nashville and do more for less.
