Nashville, Tennessee, is commonly known as the country music capital of the world. What you may not know is that effective treatment for chronic lung diseases can also be found here, too. If you’re in Nashville for lung treatment, there are several attractions you should consider visiting while in town.
1. Grand Ole Opry
In 1925, the Grand Ole Opry began its weekly broadcasts to radio listeners across the U.S. Today, this iconic show is still in operation, and this makes it the longest running radio program in the country. The show brings in the hottest guest stars from across the country music genre, and you can check out a show while you’re in Nashville. You may even be able to catch your favorite artists onstage by checking out the show’s online calendar.
2. The Ryman Auditorium
Are you interested in iconic buildings steeped in music history? Then the Ryman Auditorium is a must-see while you’re visiting Nashville. This venue has hosted countless music stars over the years, and it was made famous as the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. Although the Opry found a new home after 1974, this historic venue still plays host to many of the biggest names in music. Known for its amazing acoustics, the auditorium earned the title of Theatre of the Year 6 times in a row from 2010 to 2015. To see who will be playing here while you’re in town, check out the venue’s event calendar.
3. The Hermitage
The Hermitage is a former plantation that was owned by Andrew Jackson. The seventh president of the U.S. even passed away there in 1845, and he is known as the first president of the people. An excellent example of an 1800s Greek Revival-style mansion, the Hermitage is now a museum that houses many of Jackson’s original possessions.
Opened as a museum in 1889, this iconic home has welcomed more than 16 million visitors to date, and you can see lots of other exciting things on the grounds of the estate. For instance, the original farmhouse where Jackson lived during the building of the mansion can be visited. There are also beautiful gardens to walk through and the historic Hermitage church to visit. Check out all the attractions offered at this historic site on the Hermitage website.
