The fall and winter bring out the terrible towels as fans flock to see the iconic Pittsburgh Steelers play football. Not to forget, the Pittsburgh Penguins hit the ice in the fall for the hockey season.

For college sports fans, the University of Pittsburgh Panthers participate in nearly all NCAA Division 1 sports. Whether you enjoy tennis or track and field, there is an event for everyone.

Weather in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh enjoys a normal mid-Atlantic climate. The spring is mild as the trees blossom and the festival season kicks off. The summer is warm and just slightly humid with temperatures averaging in the 70s. In the fall, the foliage brightens from green to orange to red, and the temperatures drop into the 40s and 50s. The winter sees an estimated eight snowy days per month.
