Our Approach
At the Lung Institute, we do not view our relationship with physicians simply as a mechanism for a patient referral. Instead, this is a working partnership dedicated to improving the quality of life of patients diagnosed with lung disease. With referrals from general practitioners to pulmonologists and other specialists, we bring patients suffering from lung disease the most comprehensive range of possible care.
Our Pre-treatment Experience
We realize that no one knows your patients’ conditions better than you as the referring physician. Therefore, we are dedicated to the coordination of all pre-treatment testing measures with you and your medical staff.
Designated Point Person
Once he or she has been approved for treatment, one of our patient care coordinators will contact your patient and office. During treatment, the patient care coordinator acts as your patient’s guide as well as serving as your office’s designated point person. From initial point of contact throughout follow-up care, this individual is a liaison to you and your patient.
Treatment Completion
After the completion of each patient’s individualized treatment program, you will be provided a detailed report outlining his or her treatment at the Lung Institute. Each and every patient is instructed to return to your office for continuity of care once treatment at the Lung Institute has concluded.
Follow-up Care
With all of our referring physicians, we coordinate the follow-up care for patients, which can include pulmonary function testing, medical management, and other post-care modalities.
If at any time you have questions about your patients’ treatment process, your dedicated patient care coordinator is available by phone at 888-745-6697.
